KARACHI: The Independence Day Tennis Championship, which was being played at the Bath Island Club in Karachi, concluded yesterday with winners determined in three different categories. In the men’s singles final, Fahim Ramzan had to retire hurt because of injury against Malik Hamza in the match he was trailing 6-2, 5-0. In the ladies’ singles, Hania Naveed was in blistering form as she swept aside competitor Neha Khan in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. The last event of the day saw Muhammed Ahmed Ehtisham beat Waqas Bhutto 8-3 in the under-11 singles final.
