ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Wednesday said that Pakistan has the least inflation rate in the entire region.

Talking to Chief Executive Office of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) Qazi Azmat Essa, who called on him, the prime minister said the cabinet had been briefed that the inflation rate in the country had come down to a single digit which is an indication of success of government’s economic policies.

Essa briefed the prime minister about various initiatives undertaken by the organisation for improving living standards of the people in remote and backward areas of the country. He informed the prime minister that the Economist’s Economy Intelligence Unit has recently published a report which rates Pakistan as the most feasible investment destination.  He said that it is a good omen. This would encourage foreign direct investment in the country.
