Formula One: ‘I would have been an asset for Williams’

Ousted driver Rubens Barrichello believes his former team Williams would have benefitted from his presence in their driver’s seat and could have achieved greater success than they have had without him.

The Brazilian lost his seat at the end of the 2011 season, which became Williams’ worst ever performance in their Formula One history, according to Sky Sports. The current IndyCar driver though said that he has not lost hope of one day returning to the Formula One circuit.

“I think there is still a way back,” said Barrichello. “It’s a shame for Williams because I think I would have had a really big year. Not just for me, also for the team. Williams would have benefitted from me. I would have been a good teammate as a coach for Senna, Bottas or Maldonado. Next to me they would have gone much better than they can now.”
