Tennis players in various categories were vying for top prizes in the Independence Day Tennis Championship yesterday.
In the open singles matches, Malik Hamza showed great form and breezed past Maheen Dada in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
Fahim Bhutto also triumphed easily with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Owais Chang. Both Malik and Fahim qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament that will be played today.
In the ladies singles event, Shehneez beat Sania 6-3, 6-4 to qualify for the semi-final. The finals and closing ceremony of the championships will be held today.
