SUKKUR: Activists belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and others protested against the police’s inability to control lawlessness in Ramazan in Mirpur Mathelo on Monday. PML-N’s Dr Rahim Bux Korai, PPP-SB’s Mohammad Kamran, PTI’s Israr Gadani led the protesters as they took to the streets from the press club and reached Bhittai Chowk, where they staged a demonstration. They criticised the police for failing to “maintain the sanctity of Ramazan,” as teashops and hotels stay open during the day and street crime was on the rise. They demanded authorities to take note of the situation and take action against “corrupt” police officials.
