August 14: 500 cops to be deployed across the city

ISLAMABAD:

More than 500 police officials will be deployed at important places, shopping centres, main markets and traffic junctions in Islamabad from Monday to stop incidents of wheeling and hooliganism. 

The additional policemen have been instructed to keep a check on motorcyclists performing stunts on roads. The deployments, made under instructions from the office of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, stay till Chand Raat before Eidul Fitr, said a police statement on Sunday.

Police commandos, including lady commandos, quick response force and eagle squads will assist the police in maintaining law and order on August 14 and Chaand Raat.

They will be monitored by senior policemen of their respective areas. Blue Area, Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, sectors F-10, F-11, I-10, Faizabad and Aabpara market would remain under special focus, a police spokesperson said.
