KARACHI: SBP beat Omar Associates by 15 runs to win the 2nd Advance Telecom Corporate T20 Cup 2012. After being put into bat, SBP’s Naveed Malik and Farrukh Majeed put on 68 for the second wicket with the latter contributing 29 off 18 balls. Farrukh was the star, scoring 84 off 67 balls with 10 boundaries and two huge sixes. Sultan Ahmed picked three wickets for 21 runs. Replying to SBP’s total of 166 for seven, Omar Associates lost their captain Hafiz Majid early but Umar Siddiq kept things in check with an aggressive 76-run knock off 58 balls, smashing three sixes and seven fours. However, none of the other batsman could offer any support and Omar Associates could only manage 151 for nine. Farrukh won the man-of-the-match award while Hasan Mehmood was named the player of the tournament.
