Corps commanders meeting deliberates on cross-border attacks

RAWALPINDI: The Corps Commanders meeting at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi took stock of the security situation of the country and the region along with a special attention being given to cross-border attacks, Express News reported on Friday.

The meeting, being chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaque Pervez Kayani discussed the security situation in the country.

They also discussed the frequent cross-border attacks along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The reported offer of cooperation with US and ISAF forces against militants holed up in the lawless border areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Last month ISAF chief General John Allen had said that if the Pakistan Army launched an operation in North Waziristan Agency against militants, particularly the Haqqani network kind, “we are prepared to pay extra attention” to any spill over that may occur because of the operation.
