A Highways SDO was killed on Thursday in his official residence in Toba Tek Singh allegedly by his second wife. SHO Jamshed Iqbal Chishti told The Express Tribune that Muhammad Arshad, a resident of Sargodha, was found dead on Thursday.
He said the deceased’s son Bilal Arshad, 17, had nominated Arshad’s second wife, Khalida, as the suspect in the FIR. Arshad had married Khalida, a nurse and a resident of Kharian, two years ago.
The FIR says Khalida came to stay at Arshad’s official residence with a housemaid on Tuesday. Arshad and Khalida exchanged harsh words with each other, according to Muhammad Ashraf, a servant.
He said Khalida later served a poisoned meal to him which caused him to faint. Later, she and her maid killed Arshad and fled. It says a Highways colleague found the body in the morning.
Arshad had two sons and a daughter from his first wife who is living in Sargodha. Chishti said a police team was looking for the suspects.
