Up in flames: Fire destroys roof of factory in SITE

KARACHI: The roof of a chemical factory in SITE collapsed after a fire broke out in it on Wednesday. At least four fire tenders initially reached the factory in Sher Shah area, before being joined by the city’s entire fleet of fire tenders. A heavy contingent of police also reached the spot. Fire brigade officials said that the roof of the warehouse had collapsed, while fire fighters were able to put out the blazes after nearly four hours. The factory’s employees were safely evacuated and no one was hurt. Fire brigade officials said that initial investigation suggested that the fire broke out due to a short circuit. Police said that there was no need to register a case as the fire broke out accidently.
