Colour boycott

Actor Nikki Reed may have tried to look chic and sophisticated for the red carpet event for the Teen Choice Awards last month, but ended up looking dull and boring.

Make-up

Even though Nikki’s au naturale look is in keeping with the freshness of the summer, the lack of colour just makes us yawn. The actor made a smart choice and kept the eyeliner restricted to the outer corner of her eyes which made her light brown peepers look bigger, but we just wish she had not asked her grandmother to pick a lipstick shade for her.

Dress

The dress is a tad bit boring for a daytime red carpet event. One would expect a fashionable actor like Nikki to opt for something more fun and daring. But much to our dismay, she chose to sport this unexciting Contrarian New York Vail V-detail corset top and Gilda black silk gathered skirt.

Accessories

Nikki’s stylist is obviously not getting paid enough — why would he/she advise her to pair antique jewellery with an already dull dress? She is wearing an Ista ring, Sorelina Cleo earrings, a Bing Bang ring and a Dana Rebecca Designs Carly Michelle ring. But these big names couldn’t stop this fashion disaster from happening. We are totally digging her Jimmy Choo clutch though, which effortlessly steals our very precious attention from her blah dress.

Shoes

The glittery, chunky Brian Atwood heels are a bit heavy for the overall dull and minimalistic look. The beauties couldn’t save Nikki’s ensemble from looking as grey as a rainy London morning.

Bail out:

Demi Lovato

Actor Demi Lovato unleashed her inner animal through this feathered mini-dress by Falguni and Shane Peacock number at the Teen Choice Awards 2012. Even though she was criticised for ‘exposing a bit too much’ on the show that targets a younger audience, Lovato looked every inch a star in this ensemble paired with criss-cross black heels.

Kat Graham

Actor Kat Graham won our hearts with this flirty Aztec print frock which she accessorised with Gio Diev blue kidskin pumps with violet snakeskin detail and silver blade heels. She accessorised it perfectly well  and her ravenous locks get lots of love from us!

Shay Mitchell

Actor Shay Mitchell looked like a burst of sunshine on the red carpet. She stunned in a Donna Karan Atelier dress, Camilla Skovgaard shoes, and a Jimmy Choo bag. Her contemporaries should take lessons from her on how to look easy, breezy and effortlessly trendy.
