Animal attack: Bear injures two shepherds

Two shepherds were injured when a bear attacked them in Kaghan Valley here on Sunday morning.

BALAKOT: Two shepherds were injured when a bear attacked them in Kaghan Valley here on Sunday morning. Police and eyewitnesses said that the families of Kaghan-based Attaur Rehman and Abdul Ghani had been camping with a herd of goats in the jungle area of Plandran Mali. On Sunday morning, when they sent their goats to the forest area, they heard them bleating unusually. The two shepherds rushed to the spot and found a brown bear eating the flesh of the two goats he had just killed. When the wild animal saw the two, he attacked them, injuring them seriously. Upon hearing the cries of the two herdsmen, their family members reached the area and ran after the bear who disappeared in the jungle. The injured were taken to Kaghan Hospital from where they were referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital Mansehra with multiple injuries. According to injured, the bear killed four of their goats.
