JARANWALA:

Two young men have been killed in a gas explosion at a CNG station.  The blast went off when a gas bottle ruptured in the Punjabi city of Jaranwala.

The two victims have been named as Yousaf and Suleman and were both station employees.  They sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Other members of staff were hurt in the explosion.

Eyewitnesses said the explosion occurred as the gas bottle of a small loading vehicle was being filled at a CNG station.

Police say the explosion didn't originate in the CNG station infrastructure.  They say only the gas bottle went off.

The bodies of the men have now been moved to Jaranwala's THQ Hospital.
