Impersonating: Fake customs officials held

MANDRA:

Five men impersonating as customs officials were caught red-handed on the GT Road near Mandra on Wednesday.

Police sources said that a Motorway Police inspector spotted a private car (IDN-3321) and five persons in the uniform of customs’ officials checking the motorists.

The police official asked the impersonators to identify themselves as he had never seen customs’ officials checking motorists in such a manner.

On finding them suspicious, the police official took the five men to Mandra Police Station and registered a case against them for defrauding, cheating and impersonating as customs officials. The arrested men were later identified as Malik Taufiq, Ehsanullah, Shah Nazar, Shaukat Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed.
