LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) officials on Friday night cut a wire being used by the Gujjarpura police station to steal electricity from the main supply.

The Lesco officials, however, did not take any action against the police officers involved in the act.

The illegal connection, according to the area residents, was being used by the SHO, Husnain Haider, to power an air-conditioner in his office. The Lesco officials, who were informed about the incident by the media and the area residents, reached the place after a three-hour delay. Though they pulled down the wire, they did not initiate an inquiry into the incident. The residents told the The Express Tribune that the police station had been stealing electricity for quite some time.
