A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing the case.
Qadir appeared before the court and stated that the way hearing was being conducted gave the impression that the court was being “biased”, to which the chief justice enquired from whose side he was raising the question of “bias” since he was not representing the government in this case.
The court told the AG to name the judges and present, in written, his reasons for calling them biased.
“This is not the first time you have raised objections over the constitution of a bench,” said the chief justice, adding that if he had raised the issue earlier, the court would not have wasted 10 days of hearings.
The chief justice told Qadir that he was making baseless accusations against the judges and he should not do so.
Earlier, Chief Justice Chaudhry, while hearing petitions against the new contempt law, said that those holding public offices could be prosecuted if they were to commit contempt of court.

If Gilani had written the letter and obeyed the court order, what do you think would have happened? When the government which is PPP repeatedly violates the laws and keep engaging in corrupt practices to protect their prior corruption and gain additional massive wealth at the expense of the poor masses, the court has to act and they had to act multiple times because they keep violating laws multiple times, it gives the appearance as if the court is biased against PPP. May Allah save this country from these corrupt big wigs and dictators, bring peace and prosperity to our country, Ameen.
The AG himself is biased towards judges and is trying to settle the score of his oust from NAB. One is failed to understand that in every case the AG attacks the judges. What does he want to achieve?
AG is very much right. Injustice is felt.
I think Mr. Irfan Qadir is correct with his observation. Court has assumed the powers of Executive as well. Secondly, not in a single judgment from the last 5 years you will see a dissentry note from any of the 17 SC judges.
Why is it that every case against the government is heard by the same four judges..
We all love of courts and wish that our corts are independent and fair but it is well known fact that CJ and other judges are biased, no need to argue on that. No matter what AG says these judges will not excuse themselves and continue to hear the case. CJ has made remarks against this ordinance even before the hearing started, what else could be a better proof of CJ's bias? This is the same CJ who initiated and heard case against his own son which was against the code of conduct and despite AG objected right at the beginning. Lecturing others and self praise are not the traits of good judges.
This corrupt and unscrupulous lawyer has the guts to point a finger on the judges. He is burnt because of his expulsion from NAB by the Chief Justice.
The AG has frequently been accusing judges of bias in previous cases and thats what the CJ was referring to. Trust this clarifies to Asad. This AG was Musharaf's stooge throughout and has then been employed by the PPP precisely becuase he is willing to be dictated to.
@asad
I guess comprehension is not your strong suite, please read the article again two different sentences :)
Mr.Irfan Qadir! you are very tue. Judges sound to be biased in each case related to federal govt. Izhar
The court is issuing contradictory remarks. The Judge said " You have said these things before also" and "If you would have said these things before, we could not have wasted 10 days". Which one is correct?
