‘Honour’ crime: Two women killed, another injured

They said he had suspected her of loose morals.

FAISALABAD: Two women were killed by their brothers and another was injured over ‘honour’ in separate incidents on Wednesday. Tandlianwala Saddar police said that Allah Wasaya, a resident of Chak 402-GB, killed his sister, Firdous Bibi.

They said he had suspected her of loose morals. They said Allah Wasaya had strangled her. Their father, Muzammil Khan, has registered a case against Allah Wasaya, who has been at large since the incident. Elsewhere, a man fatally shot his married sister and injured his niece in Mochiwala. Police said Syed Ahsan, a resident of Chak 256, had previously accused his sister, Parveen Bibi, and niece, Naheed Bibi, of having illicit relationships with two men from the neighbourhood. On Wednesday, he shot at them. Parveen Bibi died on the spot, while Naheed Bibi was taken to a hospital, where doctors said she would likely survive.
