Collision: Road accident in Bolan district claims 10 lives

18 others sustained injuries.

At least 10 people, including two women, were killed on Tuesday and 18 others sustained injuries in an accident near the Mach area of Kachhi Bolan district, some 50 km away from Quetta.


According to the Balochistan Levies, a passenger coach was on its way from Larkana to Quetta when it collided head-on with a Mazda truck coming from the opposite direction. Ten people were killed on the spot, while 18 others sustained injuries.

“The cause of the accident was over-speeding,” a Balochistan Levies official said. The Balochistan Levies and the local administration and rescue teams rushed to the spot. The deceased and injured were taken to the Civil Hospital Mach.

According to doctors, the condition of the four injured is critical. The Balochistan Levies have registered a case and opened investigations.

The deceased were identified as coach driver Mohammad Rafiq, truck driver Sher Ali, Liaqut Ali, Imdad Ali, Mohamamd Rahim, Qasim, Shahnawaz, Inayat and Sanam bibi. The other woman could not be identified.

The injured were identified as Salamuddin, Maqsood Ali, Abdul Aziz, Wali Muhammad, Zahida Bibi, Qurban, Abdul Wahab, Shah Nawaz, Nadir Khan, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Salim, Imdad Ali, Abdul Hakim, Abdul Nabi, Liaquat Ali and Nawabuddin. Most victims belonged to Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Larkana districts of Sindh.
