ISLAMABAD: Today is pay day for most government employees, but senior officers of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) did not get a penny. The civic agency’ has challenged the order. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had attached the civic body’s accounts and barred the disbursement of salaries for non-payment of compensation. On July 24, Justice Siddiqui ordered the salaries of CDA officials be withheld until the next date of hearing. The verdict was announced after villagers whose land was appropriated by CDA for sectors H-16 and I-7 complained they had not been compensated. CDA’s law department has filed an intra-court appeal before a divisional bench.
