Environment: ‘Rs50m allocated to make Bahawalpur green’

Greenbelt to be set up along the railways track from Baghdadul Jaded to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

The provincial government has allocated Rs50 million for renovation of parks and establishment of green belts along major roads in Bahawalpur, Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichi said on Monday.


He was speaking at a meeting with Member of National Assembly Baligur Rehman and  Bahawalpur district coordination officer Dr Naeem Rauf.

The meeting was told that renovation work would be undertaken at Canal Park on Airport Road, Islamia Colony Park, Satellite Town Park, Ladies Park and Fish Pond Park under the project.

A greenbelt would be set up along the railways track from Baghdadul Jaded Railway Station to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Green belts would also be built on the road between Fowara Chowk and Karachi Mor and that connecting the Library Chowk to the Airport Road.The TMA would be responsible for the establishment of green belts.
