A suspect in the killing of social activist Fareeda Afridi has been apprehended by the Jamrud political administration.
Asmatullah Wazir, an official of the political administration said that they had arrested the suspect, identified as Fazl, after raiding several prospective places on the directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar.
“We have started interrogating the suspect but have not obtained any important information from him so far,” he added. Wazir informed that a few other suspects allegedly involved in Afridi’s murder had been apprehended earlier. However, they were released afterwards, he added.
Fareeda Afridi was gunned down by unidentified assailants on July 4 while she was en route to her office in Hayatabad from her house in Jamrud.
