Smuggling bid: Two held, 156 logs seized

HARIPUR: The Haripur police arrested two men and seized a truckload of timber allegedly being smuggled to Punjab on Monday. Hattar Police Station House officer Jamilur Rehman said that on a tip off, a police team intercepted a truck (LES 7272) at a police check point and seized 156 logs of illegally cut timber and arrested two men transporting the consignment. One of them was identified as Naeem Khan. Police said the timber had been smuggled from upper Hazara to Haripur via Tarbela Lake and has a market value of over Rs100,000.
