Head of delegation Farooq Sattar, speaking to the media after the meeting, reiterated his party’s stance of ‘uniting all the political parties of the country for the greater good’.
“We need to start working on solving issues from now on to ensure better working in the future,” said Sattar while thanking JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Rehman, in turn, also thanked Sattar and MQM chief Altaf Hussain for calling for unity in the country.
“The country is facing serious challenges which need to be solved with national unity,” said Rehman adding that his party has also always stressed on the importance of unity.
The MQM has already met with President Asif Ali Zardari, the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Sunni Tehreek in Islamabad.
According to the MQM, the party will announce a date for the planned roundtable conference after the meetings with political parties conclude.

It would be naïve to curse MQM even on their attempt to unite the nation just on assumptions that their motive is to delay the general elections! to hold the elections on time is not the responsibility of MQM, rather, Govt., elections commission, supreme court & all the stakeholders are responsible for that.
No doubt MQM is doing a great job by calling all the national leadership at one platform.
its what you call..election ki tayari...LOL
attempt to delay elections
National Unity, a new tactic to delay general election by governing political parties :(
Look who is talking :) fighting with every one in Karachi, with every ethnic group, every party and every sectarian group. They say now they are working for unity. The joke of year!!
Too late an exercise by a party which still is a coalition partner in corruption. Motive behind is to delay general elections for another years.
Serial blackmailers - they deserve each other .
National Unity must MEAN progress of Pakistan.
Before reaching to a consensus, all political and religions parties should shun away their personal differences for the sake of PAKISTAN.
