"I started working with him when I was 11 or 12," Muniz said. "He became like a father figure to me. Even now, he reaches out every couple of weeks to check in on me."

Muniz, who transitioned from acting to a career in professional stock car racing, credits Cranston as a major source of inspiration. The Emmy-winning actor has supported Muniz's passions by attending his races and band performances. "He's such an inspiration, and I strive to be that for someone else in the future," Muniz shared.

Cranston's career skyrocketed after Malcolm in the Middle, notably with his award-winning role in Breaking Bad. Despite this, his connection with Muniz and the cast remains strong. Muniz recalled Cranston's dedication on set, stating, "He gave 100% every day. He was so kind to everyone, and he always seized the opportunity to do his best work."

While Muniz has largely stepped away from acting, making occasional appearances in shows like Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, he's open to revisiting his Malcolm in the Middle roots. "I’d love to see where Malcolm and his family are 20 years later," he said, expressing excitement about a potential reboot.

Fans may not have to wait long for this reunion. Series creator Linwood Boomer hinted in 2022 that discussions about a revival are underway, with Cranston confirming last year that the cast is on board. "We’d love to tell those stories again," Cranston remarked, emphasizing the need for a compelling concept.

As Muniz reflects on his journey, from his sitcom stardom to his NASCAR career, his gratitude for Cranston’s guidance and friendship shines through. "He's a Hollywood god now, but he's never stopped caring," Muniz said.
