MARDAN: Unidentified assailants gunned down four people near Takht Bhai. According to an official of Sarho Shah police station, unidentified armed men opened fire on a jeep after the Friday prayers, killing four. The police also recovered a large cache of arms from the bullet-ridden vehicle. The initial investigations revealed that the deceased Murad Ali, Raza Khan, Zabita Din and Fazal Rabi were en route from Nowshera to release a family member Abid Ali who was previously kidnapped for ransom from a gas station around 10 days ago. Police suspect that the kidnappers are involved in the murder. The bodies were taken to hospital for identification.
