ISLAMABAD:

Trade between Indonesia and Pakistan has increased by 34% from $787 million in 2010 to $1.142 billion in 2011.

This was said by the Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia Sanaullah during his meeting with the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Kadin) Suryo B Sulisto on Tuesday, according to a message received from Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta.

The envoy emphasised that there was enough potential in various fields between the two countries to increase trade. However, there was urgent need to boost bilateral trade by encouraging the business communities of both countries. He requested the Kadin chairman to persuade the Indonesian businessmen to turn to a market of 180 million people and equally large market in the neighbouring landlocked countries.
