Justice Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari of the LHC directed the committee to meet at the office of the LHC Inspection Team member on Saturday (today) and report to the court about the proposed solution by September 2.
The committee includes the LHCIT member, president and secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Advocates Muhammad Sharif Khokhar, Anwar Kamal and Alamgir Khan, the SP (City) Traffic and the Civil Lines SP.
CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen, SSP Traffic (Operations) Ahmed Mubeen and representatives of the City District Government appeared before the court on Friday.
The petitioner submitted that traffic chaos had become the order of the day at Turner Road due to the inefficiency of traffic police. It was a one-way road but nobody obeys the rule.
The petitioner said the chaos was a result of the inefficiency of the traffic police. He said encroachments on the road were a source of great inconvenience to road users, particularly the lawyers, many of whom had offices on the street or nearby. He added that the illegal parking in front of the AG’s Office gate of the LHC raised the risk of a terrorist attack on the LHC.
