Cricket: Omar Associates win thriller

Omar Associates clinch a close nine-run win against Advance Telecom.

KARACHI: Left-arm medium pacer Roman Raees Khan and spinner Nauman Alvi bagged two wickets each to help Omar Associates clinch a close nine-run win against Advance Telecom in their 17th Dr MA Shah Night Trophy match played at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Meanwhile, Vital Five CC defeated Medicam by four runs in another close encounter in the State Life 2nd VFC Trophy. Batting first, Vital Five posted 156 for six as Faisal Athar made 39, hitting a six and five boundaries while Kashif Bhatti scored 24. Ayaz Tassawwur took three wickets. In reply, Medicam were bundled out for 152 despite Salman Ali's 48. Faheem Ahmed and Imran Ali bagged two wickets apiece.
