Lockup murder: Interim bail of accused extended

LAHORE: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Irfan Saeed on Friday put off the hearing of the interim bail application by five men accused of murdering a prisoner, Azam, in the court lockup till July 25. Their defenc-e lawyer Mansoorur Rehman Afridi had argued that since the matter of whether to include ATA provisions against the defendants was pending, the court should grant them interim bail. The prosecution opposed the request. The judge then ordered that arguments on both the bail request and whether to include the ATA provisions would be heard on July 25.
