Restoration of cricketing ties between Pakistan and India can play a pivotal role in enhancing mutual confidence and encouraging people-to-people contact, said President Asif Ali Zardari in a letter addressed to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Referring to the resumption of matches between the two neighbours after a hiatus of five years, President Zardari said that the positive atmosphere developed as a result of matches will likely play a crucial role in improving bilateral relations.
