LAHORE:

Blind people staged a demonstration outside Chief Minister ’s camp office near Minar-i-Pakistan on Wednesday to demand jobs in government departments. The protest was organised by the Lahore Blind Association (LBA) and led by its general secretary Mohammed Zafar.

The protesters chanted slogans condemning the government and carried placards inscribed with their demands. They said that they were not being granted jobs even though they met education qualifications and there was a job quota for special persons. Many protesters were carrying their masters or bachelors degrees, saying they were no good if they could not get jobs.

They urged the chief minister to provide them jobs so they could earn a living.
