ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday, to brief the president - who is also the patron-in-chief of PCB – on his visit to India. Ashraf also spoke to Zardari on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to resume cricket ties between Pakistan and India. A BCCI statement on Monday said it had invited Pakistan for a series later this year, the first in five years. Zardari welcomed the BCCI’s decision, saying he appreciated the efforts of Ashraf for the resumption of cricketing ties between the archrivals. He added that the resumption of sporting ties would help promote peace and friendship between the two countries and their people.
