Tragedy in threes: Young casualty of collective suicide discovered
The girl’s mother, Azeema, reportedly killed herself after a domestic dispute.
The body of a young girl was found in the Rohri canal near Kandiyaro on Monday. She had reportedly jumped into the canal with her mother and brother on Sunday, however their bodies have not been discovered as yet.
The girl’s mother, Azeema, reportedly killed herself after a domestic dispute. She left her house with her five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son on Sunday. Sources in the area claimed that her husband was a poor labourer and could not make enough money to support her family. The couple would often fight because it was difficult for Azeema to see her children starving.
On Monday morning, residents saw the body of the young girl floating in the canal and called the police. The law enforcers called the woman’s relatives. Azeema’s brother Sachal Ujjan identified the body of his niece.
