To beautify the city, the city municipal corporation has launched an anti-encroachment drive against illegally constructed extensions of building and huts.
Municipal Corporation Administrator Chaudhry Muhammad Mansha announced this on Saturday. He said the drive has been divided into multiple phases, adding that nearly 70 encroachments have already been removed during the first phase.
He said the remaining encroachers have been served notices to voluntarily demolish the illegal constructions and clear illegally-occupied lands to avoid material and financial losses.
Mansha said that to facilitate the people, the government has also reserved a site near View Point Recreation Park for a taxi stand which will be set up as soon as the encroachments are removed from the area.
He added that the municipality has been put on alert and any citizen can lodge complaints against encroachments on the numbers 05827-921603 and 05827-921605.
