Disease control: CBC starts fumigation campaign

KARACHI: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) launched a fumigation campaign on Friday as part of its emergency drive to stop diseases from spreading during the looming monsoon rains.

The drive includes fumigation and oil and insecticide sprays at stagnant water pools, drains, garbage dumps, nullahs and manholes, according to a CBC statement.

The campaign will help stop breeding of mosquitoes, flies and insects – potential vectors of different diseases and viruses. According to the programme scheduled, insecticide sprays of various categories will be used in all areas under CBC jurisdiction with fumigation to be carried out through vehicle-mounted fumigation machines.
