SUKKUR: Six people were killed and 22 injured in an accident on the National Highway near the Rasool Abad police check post.  A family was en route to Punjab from Sehwan after attending Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s Urs, and was asked to stop by a police officer near the Rasool Abad check post. As soon as the car stopped, a passenger bus behind ran into it and the car’s CNG cylinder burst, setting fire to both vehicles. Six people were killed instantly. Motorway Police SP Mohammad Anwar Bugti said that the car was speeding towards Sukkur and when the policeman at Rasool Abad check post stopped it, the driver applied brakes suddenly. However the driver of the passenger bus couldn’t stop and banged into the car. A fire brigade was called to the site. According to Bugti, the dead and injured were shifted to nearby hospitals in Gambat and Hingorja. He claimed that prompt action by the motorway police minimised the number of casualties.
