The apex court is investigating cases of missing people in Balochistan, where the military has been accused of rights violations in its bid to put down a separatist insurgency.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, sitting in the provincial capital Quetta, ordered Frontier Corps (FC) officials to produce missing persons before the court.
"Enough evidences are available for involvement of the Frontier Corps in picking up of every third missing person" in Balochistan, he said.
The chief justice and two other judges also heard a case involving the alleged abduction of 30 people and killing of two tribesmen in the Totak Khuzdar district of Balochistan in February last year.
The court ordered FC officials to produce people from the Totak incident which it had in custody.
During the hearing of the case on Tuesday, the FC continued to come under the fire of the court, with the chief justice restating that every third person who was missing was picked up by the FC.
He had asked the counsel of the FC why no action had been taken in refugee camps, where several missing persons are reported to be present. He had posed the same question to Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob.

Is there any contempt of law for the judges who accuse or have evidence and don't take any conclusive action? If they accuse, and knowingly do not bring a conclusion who is going to bell these cats? They are participants as they are just playing political game.
@Cautious: You said "Sounds grand – if true then toss some people in jail for murder/kidnapping/torture etc." But the PCO SC can only go against the elected secular and liberal people not the generals and jihadist. In addition murder/kidnapping/torture are not as serious as Memo or a slap. The sad fact is anytime the PCO CJ demands the production of the people in court their mutilated and tortured bodies are dumped in the streets. Please CJ for God sake stop the production of people in the court, you are responsible for their deaths. They may have disappeared but still alive till you make populist statements not the judgments. They only make judgments regularly and promptly against the elected leaders. No proofs, smoking guns, motives, eye witnesses are need for that. Regards, Mirza
Whatever FC is doing in Balauchistan is in the best interest of the country.People of of Pakistan fully support and validate its actions in nabbing the armed agents of the RAW. In fact every country does even more in crushing the rebels. Siri lanka fought out rebels for more than 30 years in which lakhs of people were killed and went missing. Ibraham Lincoln, President of USA crushed the rebellion of 11 of its Southern States, with iron hand, in which one million people were killed and many went missing. India, the so called biggest democracy of the world, with the help of army, has resorted to genocide of Kashmiris, Sikhs, Nagaland etc to crush popular freedom movements. If all countries have right yo crush rebels, then why not Pakistan???????????
This problem/issue is sensitive and delicate and complex.Handle it properly please
wow, now the courts have starting accusing people specially when 'enough evidence is available against them'. Is it because it is FC?
