Rehman Malik resigns from Senate
Malik said that he wanted to resign from his current post as well but had been stopped by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
“I assure you that I don’t have any directorship, I have resigned from everything,” exclaimed Malik, adding that he had committed himself to Pakistan, its people and its politics.
“I have given a will to my family that if I die, I should be buried in Islamabad,” he said.
Commenting on media reports that he had agreed to mass deportation from the UK, Malik said, “No, categorically I deny. I am the one who stopped this; there will be no large scale deportations from the UK.”
Malik said that not more than 25 to 30 people would be deported and that too would be within a timeframe of two to three months, but added that the rest depended on the country’s immigration policy.
In this regard, he added that it would be better if things were verified with the respective embassies.
“If they have restrictions concerning student visas it is up to them. As far as we are concerned, we believe that Pakistanis who have gone abroad should not come back until they have completed legal formalities,” he said.
Malik asked people to not go abroad illegally, adding that it would be better if, instead, they stayed in Pakistan and worked for the betterment of the country.
Answering a question about the Inspector General (IG) Sindh post, Malik said, “It has been decided that Fayyaz Laghari will be the IG Sindh,” adding that he had tried to retain him as the Deputy General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), but it had been decided otherwise.

He will be re-elected, he officially surrendered his British nationality so he is now eligible for re-election like Jamshed Dasti. He pre-empted the Supreme Court and his case will now stand dismissed.
So no harm done and he will be getting re-elected soon.
So he finally agreed that he has dual nationality! he should be prosecuted for lying in the court and punished for being a dual national while in office. Even if this ludicrous bill gets approved it is not going to save the dual nationals as the rulings are prospective not retrospective.
Quick! Put him on ECL!!
mr malik was back before he will be back again as will be PPP as the largest political party agai and no future gov will be possible without its support

Pls don't be quick to say that... Who knows the deal strikes in between the coalition partners, and Dual Nationality Bill gets thru... You don't know when the self-interests win over national interests.
With the current judicial system many people will leave as the country is under judicial dictatorship ,MR MALIK has been working day and night and running about He prefers to be on his feet while some people are sitting on high chairs couple of hours a day I salute mr malik dedication energy courtesy and his hard work HE WILL BE BACK
In case he didn't know it the UK doesn't need his permission to deport Pakistani's.
That's good for him and also for us.
He will be vending at the Subway 24 hour joint! That is his only solid connection to Pakistan
Its a short term project anyway, and PPP is in the last year. Go and find a better job for you Malik, thats how clever people does near the end of the project

He is not resigning of his own . he is constrained to resign as he is no more a senator due to dual nationality holder. it is also irony that some one who has taken oath to protect the interest of UK (also) will advise the Prime Minister how to protect /develop the Pakistan..
This is the elcetion year, they have made enough money to last for their generations to come. Of course they will resign now and will end up in london before they could be questioned for what they did. He should apologize to the nation because he support the corrupt party and helped it to nurture the corruption under his thumbs.
The joy ride of PPP is getting over, one after another will runaway and end up resigning.
