FIA probe: Substandard material used in 11 roads in Okara

FIA (ACC) team had visited the sites after examining the relevant record and verified the complaint.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Punjab chapter has started to probe 11 road project contracts for over Rs40 million to 7 contractors by the Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak-PWD) in violation of Public Procurement Rules (PPRA) 2004, The Express Tribune has learnt.


They are also investigating the use of substandard material in connivance with Pak-PWD officials.

An FIA official said that an FIA Anti Corruption Circle (ACC) team had visited the sites after examining the relevant record and verified the complaint.

According to the inquiry report, Pak-PWD Sahiwal Division Executive Engineers Khizer Hayat, Hassan Akhter and Muhammad Saeed had awarded 11 road contracts to seven contractors during  2010-2011.
