Balloting: Five cops to perform Hajj

Around 5,492 police personnel, ranging from constables to officers participated in the balloting.

ISLAMABAD: Five police officials will perform Hajj this year at the police department’s expense. The five lucky officials were selected through balloting on Friday conducted by Headquarter DIG Ahmed Mukarram at Police Lines. According to a police spokesman, the balloting was conducted on the directives of Inspector General of the Islamabad Police Bani Amin. Around 5,492 police personnel, ranging from constables to officers participated in the balloting. Eligibility was set at 15 years of service with an age limit of 55 years. The police officials going for Hajj are Inspector Muhammad Afzal, Sub-Inspector Taseer Ahmed, Head Constable Shahid Mehmood, Head Constable Ghumkhar Hussain and UDC Manzoor Hussain. The DIG congratulated the quintet and expressed hope they would remember the country and their comrades in the police department in their prayers.
