KARACHI:
Favourite Shabbir Iqbal along with Mohammad Afzal shared the lead at the first round of the Sindh Open Golf Championship that started yesterday at the Arabian Sea Country Club. Both golfers played the opening round with six-under-par 66 to secure a three-stroke lead in the professional category.
The duo is followed by Sajid Khan and Mohammad Asif, while third spot is jointly shared by Safdar Khan, Waheed Baloch, Mohammad Nazir and Ashir Masih.
It was not a good day for seasoned golfers Mohammad Munir and Matloob Ahmed as they both finished outside the top 20. Meanwhile, Asghar Ali led the senior professional event with the first round score of 72.
