Another Bank Robbery: Rs0.26m heist in a bank in Keamari

Police have obtained footage from the closed-circuit cameras from the bank.

This year’s eighth bank robbery took place at a branch of United Bank Limited in Jackson Market. The police said that five men entered the bank at around 10:25 am and held the staff hostage and went away with Rs0.26 million.


Two security guards were on duty at the bank but they could not prevent the robbers from entering the bank. SHO Yar Mohammad Rind said that as soon as the robbers entered in the bank one of the guards fled to the bathroom and while the handed over his gun over to the robbers with any resistance. The men took the money and the guard’s gun with them.

Police have obtained footage from the closed-circuit cameras from the bank. It showed that four men wore shalwar kameez while one wore a shirt and trousers. All of them were talking among themselves in Pushto.

SHO Rind said that the police have detained both the security guards and have begun to question them about their involvement in the robbery.
