RAWALPINDI: A 45-year-old man committed suicide by self-immolating himself at Liaquat Bagh on Monday evening. According to the police, Rescue 1122 officials shifted the man to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Ashfaq, a resident of Gawalmandi. Police sources said the motive behind the extreme step was abject poverty.
