Collision: One killed in a bike’s accident with truck

Police arrest one truck driver, second one still on the loose.

One man was killed and two others injured when a Mazda truck hit a motorbike after colliding with a 16-wheeler parked on Kahuta Road post midnight on Saturday.


Sihala Police arrested the driver of the long vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road, which caused the accident. However, the driver of the other truck, also booked for hitting the motorbike, managed to escape from the scene.

Sihala Police said the driver of the 16-wheeler, Sher Muhammad Khan, parked his vehicle and went away after switching off the parking lights. The other truck driver, Zahid failed to see the trailer in the dark and hit it before swerving away, resulting in the accident with the motorbike coming from the opposite side.

Two brothers Waseemuddin and Naeemuddin, along with a friend Muhammad Shehzad fell from the motorbike and suffered serious injuries.

Shehzad suffered critical head injuries that proved fatal and he died on his way to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). Naeemuddin was under treatment in Pims for serious injuries till last reports came in. His brother was discharged after emergency treatment.

The police registered a case of negligent driving against the two truck drivers. One of them was in their custody while the other was yet to be arrested when this report was filed.
