‘Sentenced’: Man gets death penalty for murder

FAISALABAD: A court awarded capital punishment to a murder convict on Friday. The prosecution had said that Rehan, a resident of Chak 591-GB, had some differences with Irfanul Haq, a resident of Chak 272-GB. They said that Irfanul Haq shot and killed Rehan when he was sitting at a shop. Jaranwala Additional Session Judge Mian Shahid Mehmood awarded capital punishment to Irfanul Haq under Section 302-B of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The convict was also ordered to pay Rs1 million to the heirs of the deceased.
