LAHORE:

Murder suspect Shan Muhammad Khan Khusro, son of former Lahore commissioner Khusro Pervez Khan, has been remanded in policy custody for five days. Burki police produced Khusro before Judicial Magistrate Imran Yousaf on Wednesday and sought his physical remand for 14 days, saying this would help them recover the gun Khusro allegedly used to shoot and kill Hamza Elahi, his school friend.

The judge granted them five days and directed them to produce Khusro again on July 2.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking direction to place Shan Khusro on the exit control list.

The court declined the petitioner’s plea that Khusro Pervaiz be stopped from influencing the investigation of the case.

A provincial law officer told the court that steps were being taken to place Shan’s name on the exit control list. Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan was hearing a petition moved by Fazal Elahi, father of Hamza Elahi.

Elahi contended that the court had already dismissed Shan Khusro’s pre-arrest bail application.

He said he feared that Shan might escape and his name should be placed on the exit control list.
