Picnic gone awry: Two die, six rescued in boating accident

MANSEHRA: Two persons drowned, while six others were rescued when a boat capsized in Jalkhand Lake, near Naraan here on Monday afternoon. Police and eyewitnesses said that eight picnickers from Punjab were enjoying a boat ride, when the boat overturned, throwing all eight picnickers into the river. The locals dived into the river and rescued six of the picnickers who also suffered minor injuries while two died. The body of one of the two was recovered while the second body was still missing, police. The deceased were identified as Amir Sajjad, son of Muhammad Sajjad of Okara while the identify of the other missing person could not be ascertained. Among the rescued persons are Muhammad Ibrahim, Sajjadur Reheem, Shehryar Raza, Muhammad Taqi, Hammad, Ashar and Rehmatullah.
