LAHORE:

Lahore High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial has said that corrupt elements will not be tolerated in the district judiciary, says a press release issued by the LHC on Monday.

The CJ has ordered steps for eliminating corruption in order to improve the judicial system and facilitate the public, the release read. In the light of a letter issued by LHC Inspection Team Member Abdul Sattar, notice boards have been prominently displayed outside the courts of district and sessions judges and senior civil judges at district headquarters and outside the courts of additional district and sessions judges and civil judges (1st class) at tehsil level.

Corruption, nepotism, cheating, dishonesty and unbecoming behavior are listed as reasons for filing a complaint, the press release said. Any citizen can file a complaint to a member of the inspection team at the LHC through post or during office hours. The public has been advised that if they file a written complaint, they should mention their full name, father’s name, address and contact numbers and provide a copy of their NIC. If the complaint is regarding corruption an affidavit also needs to be included.
