5 cricketers issued notices for not submitting income statements

Players include Taufeeq Umar, Umer Akmal, Muhammad Hafeez, Misbahul Haq and Azhar Ali.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued notices to five players of the national cricket team on Monday over not submitting their income statements, reported Express News.

Taufeeq Umar, Umer Akmal, Muhammad Hafeez, Misbahul Haq and Azhar Ali have been sent notices for the year 2011-12.

According to Rental Tax Office Lahore, these players did not submit their income statements nor did they provide any information about income received from other sources.

Earlier, Haq was issued a notice to pay his tax, but he appealed against it.

FBR officials should be charged for leaking players information to media. Any citizen's tax information is strictly confidential until the individual is found guilty by Court of Law for evading tax.
