OMAHA: Star swimmer Michael Phelps vowed to overcome his struggles after the Beijing Olympics and come back with strong performances at the US Olympic Trials that start today. Phelps has had well documented struggles in the wake of his Beijing triumphs adding an air of suspense to an Olympic campaign that he says will be his last. The American admitted that he has had to play catch up to rivals after slack training following Beijing. “I’m a lot more confident now than I was,” said Phelps. “I tried to get away with faking as much as I could, and I saw the results were pretty bad. I think I’ve been able to do things that are hopefully going to be able to show good results.”
